Our History
Offering Bathroom and Kitchen Cabinets, Doors, Fixtures since 1941
Economy Kitchens and Baths' roots can be traced to Tru-Art Kitchens, which began operation in 1941 under the direction of its founder and President, Martin, and his two brothers. Located in Roselle, New Jersey, Tru-Art Kitchens focused primarily on custom cabinetry for residential customers.
Martin became the sole owner in 1980 and re-incorporated the company as Economy Kitchens. This company maintained its focus on cabinet re-facing, and became highly specialized in exclusive oak re-facing methods. It was during this time that the company began to add key personnel, and in 1986 Jay joined the company as a sales consultant.
In 1994, Jay and Thomas purchased the company and incorporated under Economy Kitchens and Baths. The newly formed company continued to offer superior cabinet re-facing and new kitchens, but also began to focus in other areas such as bath remodeling. Over the next several years the company continued to respond to its customer's needs, and it was further transformed into one of the region's most respected full service kitchen and bath concerns.
On September 18, 1996, Economy Kitchens and Baths moved to its present location in Rahway, New Jersey. With more than 7,500 square feet of building space, Economy Kitchens and Baths boasts one of the largest kitchen stores and bathroom showrooms in NJ. Presently more than two-thirds of the company's business is dedicated to the design and installation of custom kitchen and bath cabinetry and remodeling.
